Days of Our Lives Stages STUNNING Cliffhangers Before Long Break

That was some swan song episode that Days of Our Lives put on Wednesday as the show takes off the next two days as NBC airs French Open tennis finals. So many characters were positioned to be in jeopardy, we barely know where to begin!

First and foremost, Claire (Olivia Rose Keegan) has gone completely off the rails and the main person who seems to know it is reformed serial killer Ben (Robert Scott Wilson), determined to redeem himself and be worthy of Ciara’s (Victoria Konefal) love. Ciara is on his trail — will she have to save him in a confrontation with her niece?

Will (Chandler Massey) is also facing life and death with a benign tumor ready to do him in at any moment but at least he’s finally told his grandmother Marlena (Deidre Hall). Trying to be the voice of reason (as she is in every scene she’s in), Marlena wants to call his mom. Get ready for Hurricane Sami (Alison Sweeney), Salem.

Will has more than Marlena in his corner. John (Drake Hogestyn) is pretty sure Eve (Kassie DePaiva) knows where Dr. Rolf’s diary is and he’s told Sonny (Freddie Smith). Desperate to save the man he loves, Sonny confronted Eve, the new police commissioner, and threatened to kill her if she doesn’t turn it over. She almost looked impressed.

And let’s not forget the romantic jeopardy that happened near the end of the episode! Eli (Lamon Archey) has sadly ended things with Lani (Sal Stowers), who cared for not even a millisecond before she was making a pass at Rafe (Galen Gering). Odd timing since he had just been telling her it was time to move out.

While it’s heartbreaking to see a legacy character like Claire — who has Brady, Horton, and Jarlena blood coursing through her — be written to have completely lost her mind to the point she’s willing to kill people she loves who get in her way, it has been riveting. You can’t help but want to see what she’ll do next.

Yet seeing Will be on the verge of death… again… isn’t nearly as watchable. Here’s hoping that his parents returning will kick this story up a notch. It’s also good to see Will suffer repercussions after taking the untested serum after all the warnings he was given. If he hadn’t, it would have been an empty threat and that’s not dramatic!

So many things have been set up for when the show returns next week and we can’t wait to see what happens next!

Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
