The Days of Our Lives recap for March 23-27, 2020, features history informing the present, a criminal ready to surrender herself, and much more.
This week’s DAYS was all about the redux. Big bad SteVano (Stephen Nichols) had the perpetually-in-peril Marlena (Deidre Hall) in his clutches and it was up to do-gooder John Black (Drake Hogestyn) to take him down – once and for all.
Then there was poor Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow), who found herself an inmate of the DiMera underground for the third time in as many years. On the plus side, her companion this time around was pseudo friend Gabi (Camila Banus). One big minus was Gabi’s reluctance to sit around and lull away the hours with a bottle of champagne…at least Vivian (Louise Sorel) knew how to party.
The usually heroic Chad (Billy Flynn) once again fell under the sway of another but this time instead of being forced to break up with his lady love, he was forced to keep Tony (Thaao Penghlis) and Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) firmly in line – with the help of a nifty little fire arm!
And finally, we had the queen of baby switches out to prove that her no-good ex ripped a page out of her proverbial playbook. But since the past is being used for reference, Xander (Paul Telfer) went and bribed a lab technician to bungle the DNA tests that Nicole (Ariane Zucker) had ordered. But that was a mistake. A big mistake.
Kate: “I am hoping that Tony, being the most sane of all of them, in some respects..will have the courage to save Marlena..” In his defense, he certainly tried, and he did manage to turn on the Find My Phone app, which enabled Anna and Abigail to pinpoint their location.
Now, as for that crack about him being sane “in some respects,” at least Tony isn’t a serial killer (that was Andre) or a Bo-obsessed hellion (that was Megan Hathaway) nor is he someone who pilfers enemy-neutralizing ideas from Dynasty (that was all Peter Blake).
SteVano: “The original Maison Blanche was destroyed in a fire. I have recreated it at Crystal Lake, just outside Salem.” Hmm…does it also happen to be next to a certain abandoned summer camp?
Sonny: “So you’re actually serving time?” Maggie: “I need to take full responsibility for what I did.” Maybe Victor (John Aniston) can learn a thing or two from his wife’s example.
But now it’s surely time to reveal that either a) Adrienne (Judi Evans) isn’t really dead or b) it was actually somebody else who ran her and Sarah off the road that night. We’re looking at you Summer (Marie Wilson).
Evan: “David’s my son. Mine! …and as soon as I get this matter with Jordan’s accident settled, he and I are going to be on our way.” Accident. Is that what we’re calling strangling somebody to death? In that case, Ben (Robert Scott Wilson) had a few accidents, too.
In Evan’s (Brock Kelly) defense, he did finally relent and return David to Rafe (Galen Gering) and ensure Orpheus’ (George DelHoyo) arrest. Score one for smooth-talking Sonny (Freddie Smith)! Days of Our Lives airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
