The Days of our Lives recap for Tuesday, May 21 features a day of non-stop action in Salem. Eve lost her cool, Haley felt the heat, and Claire went into a red, hot rage (again)!
Hope (Kristian Alfonso) was on her way out, which means Jack (Matthew Ashford) had to find a new commissioner. He went to Rafe (Galen Gearing) and offered him the job but he turned it down flat.
This left Jack in a rough spot. His swearing in was a few mere hours away and he needed to name someone for the position. Thankfully, he already had someone in mind.
Speaking of the inauguration, Eve (Kassie DePaiva) was over setting up and ran into Ben (Robert Scott Wilson). The encounter did not go well. Harsh words were exchanged and then Eve hauled off and walloped Ben right there and then.
Meanwhile, Ciara (Victoria Konefal) went over to see Rafe about baby David but got a shock when she heard about the divorce. She loved having Rafe as part of her family and they promised to stay close.
Haley (Thia Megia) and JJ (Casey Moss) were stuck between a rock and a hard place while on the run. They have little money, no vehicle, and no real plan.
She worried the made a terrible mistake and decided to turn around and go back. JJ did not give in so easy. He called Tripp (who just finished being questioned) and asked for refuge at the Horton cabin.

Claire (Olivia Rose Keegan) continued to lose her temper over losing Tripp. First, she went after Eve and gave that woman a piece of her mind. She handed Eve everything and got only heartbreak in return.
Eve did the only thing she could do and advised her young friend to let Tripp go. Then, she cryptically warned Eve she’d set her on fire if she crosses her again.
Of course, Claire was not about to let Tripp walk out of her life. She headed right to the condo and begged him to take her back. He didn’t. In fact, he had no intention of ever forgiving her. Tripp told her to get out and when she refused he left instead.
This set Claire off into an epic tailspin. She gathered his belongings, threw them in a pile, and was just about to set them on fire when Ben walked in.
