Days of Our Lives Recap: The Week That Changed Everything

The Days of Our Lives recap for November 4-8, 2019, features a whole lot of weddings, a bungled murder attempt and a bunch of questions that only the fans can answer.

Days of Our Lives Recap: Weekly Highlights

Although she made it down the aisle and greeted her intended, Lani (Sal Stowers) bolted right before uttering the all-important “I do.” Eli (Lamon Achey) gave chase and begged her to return but Lani told him she couldn’t go through with the wedding.

When he questioned why she couldn’t go through it, she said it was because she couldn’t in good conscience be happy with her man after she took Gabi’s (Camila Banus). Eli called bull so Lani hit low. “I just don’t love you enough to marry you.”

A further kick in the pants followed when Lani cried that she only accepted his proposal as a response to them losing David Abraham and that they can’t build a future together on that memory alone.

A heartbroken Eli took off and the only thing Lani found comfort in was the punch she delivered to a gloating Gabi’s jaw.

A Salem Wedding

With Lani and Eli’s wedding called off, there was an already booked venue, and an ordained minister with nothing better to do so Adrienne (Judi Evans) and Jack (Matthew Ashford) asked to be married to their respective spouses and Marlena happily obliged.

Although, perhaps, Justin (Wally Kurth) should have stuck to his guns and remembered the assessment he made just a few moments earlier — “I think they should have known better than to get married in Salem. It never works.”

Uneasy Lies the Head

So Princess Gina’s (Kristian Alfonso) promise that her royal reign would be one of “peace, prosperity, and all other things good” really flew out the proverbial window when she sent Jennifer (Melissa Reeves) sailing out of a literal one — okay, technically it was over a balcony. Don’t quibble.

In her defense, PG didn’t WANT to kill Jennifer but the journalist had learned about Rolf’s (William Utay) plan to reactivate her, so Her Majesty had to make a tough call.

Jennifer: Deep Sleep

Though, Jennifer survived her meeting with the sidewalk she lay in suspended slumber for an entire year accompanied by her husband and the trusty hourglass he used to count the minutes, hours and days.

DAYS Recap: Weekly Musings

Boy, does Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) hold a grudge. If you have any doubt just ask Xander (Paul Telfer) whom Doc greeted with “If it isn’t the jerk that tried to shoot me at my own wedding.” She then went on to label a clown, an idiot, and despicable.

What do you think? Post a comment!

When an incredulous Roman (Josh Taylor) asked a ranting Eve (Kassie DePaiva) if her hatred of Jennifer was STILL about their troubles over Frankie, was he asking the most pertinent question ever put to Miss Donovan?

We can probably agree that JJ’s (Casey Moss) reaction to Eve’s pregnancy announcement — “No you’re not. You’re…you’re too old!” – was the highlight of the week. But was his threat to put her in a garbage can “where you belong” overly harsh?

In the pantheon of double daytime weddings, where does the Jack/Jennifer and Justin/Adrienne ceremony land on your favorites list? Was it sweet or shmaltzy that Marlena changed the vows from “till death do you part” to “all the days of your life.”?

Does the Salem Police Department’s budget not include Crime Scene Investigative Officers? Why else would Rafe (Galen Gering) be snapping pictures of the Bistro’s balcony with his personal cellphone?

Admit it. Didn’t you giggle just a little at the multitude of interruptions that kept PG from silencing Jennifer in the hospital? Who knew it would be so difficult to murder one nosy reporter in a town that has been home to five serial killers?

Speaking of PG, her insistence that she isn’t a violent person by nature doesn’t really hold water, does it? After all, she immolated Stefano — though he did deserve it — then tried to pump Marlena and …continue reading on the next page —>

Speaking of PG, her insistence that she isn’t a violent person by nature doesn’t really hold water, does it? After all, she immolated Stefano — though he did deserve it — then tried to pump Marlena and Shawn Douglas full of lead just prior to her bodily death.

Also, didn’t she handle the revelation that she is preserved essence on a microchip implanted in Hope Brady’s, “adequate,” body quite well? The woman barely even flinched.

What question are you most looking forward to getting answered come Monday? The identity of the body in the DiMera cottage, how Sarah’s (Linsey Godfrey) pregnancy dilemma was solved, or how PG managed to elude the authorities when they should have had video proof of her misdeeds?
