The Days of Our Lives recap for Thursday, July 9, 2020, features Allie shocking Marlena more than once, Rafe mulling over the adoption, and the reunion all fans want to see.
Days of our Lives Recap Highlights
Marlena (Deidre Hall) finally set eyes on her granddaughter and her bulging bump. She and John (Drake Hogestyn) sat her down, offered their support, and even agree to not call Sami. It all went well until Allie (Lindsay Arnold) told them her adoption plans.
Allie told them she asked Rafe (Galen Gering) but her bother approached her too. She then admitted she was settled on her original choice, she didn’t want to be Auntie-Mommy. Marlena wasn’t pleased and asked her to reconsider calling her mom.
Rafe Rocked The Boat
Lucas (Bryan Dattilo) was also not pleased. Rafe broke the news to him and Kate (Lauren Koslow) and Lucas almost went off the rails. Lucas told Rafe his son had plans to adopt the child. Lucas was so worked up he tried to call Sami but Kate stopped him in his tracks. It wasn’t his secret to tell.
Later, Rafe and Will ran into each other outside Eric’s apartment. They agreed to let Allie make her own choice and live with whatever she decided.

Kayla And Steve Together Again
Over at the airport, Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) laid into Steve (Stephen Nichols). How dare he still love her and not tell her? How dare he try to leave? What is really going on here? Steve admitted his feelings and that he left the plane to fight for her. Kayla hit him.
Steve then had a few questions of his own. Why was she here? Did she still love him too? Kayla said she did, but she didn’t want to. They’ve hurt each other one too many times. However, the heart wants what the heart wants.
In the end, they decided one last time to get it right. And, since they were at the airport why not board a flight and start anew somewhere else for a little while?
An Upsetting Reality
Meanwhile, Justin (Wally Kurth) was all hearts and stars seeing Adrienne. He pulled her in and kissed her and promised his undying love. Sadly, it wasn’t her — it was Bonnie (Judi Evans). They got into it about her being there, looking more like Adrienne than ever, and she wasn’t exactly tactful about his wedding disaster. He sent her away.
Later, Bonnie spied Lucas in the square and fantasized about him running into her arms. It could happen, right? Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
