The Days of our Lives recap for Friday, August 28, 2020 features the Hernandez family saying goodbye to Salem.
Ben (Robert Scott Wilson) was a mess trying to relay the series of tragic events to Hope (Kristian Alfonso). The bad news is, Eve’s brainwashing got to him. The good news is, he doesn’t remember if he killed Ciara. Ben begged Hope to arrest him.
Hope did the right thing and dragged Ben to the station. It was there they ran into Eve (Kassie DePaiva). The scene became explosive with Eve bearing the brunt of everyone’s anger, especially Hope and Ben’s.
Jake (Brandon Barash) was all about Gabi (Camila Banus) and cut ties with Gwen (Emily O’Brien). He even handed her cash for a hotel and asked her to move out. Unfortunately, that may be a mistake. While he was ending his relationship, Gabi was being told to pack her bags.
Chad (Billy Flynn) went to check on Will (Chandler Massey) and Sonny (Freddie Smith). Was it true they are leaving? Yes, yes they are. Their only stumbling block was working things out with Ari. Little did they know their luck would soon change in the most horrifying way.
Gabi and Eduardo went to the Kiriakis mansion to grab Ari but along the way, Gabi changed her mind about taking her daughter on the run. She told Will and Sonny everything. In the end, Gabi kissed Ari goodbye, and reluctantly and tearfully left her life behind.
Gabi then and said goodbye to another very important person, Jake. He offered to come with her and she refused. She set him free by telling him she only slept with him to use him. Don’t wait around, Jake, get back with Gwen. Jake was floored.
Meanwhile, Rafe stopped by the station and found everything in a mess. Ciara was missing, Eve was unapologetic, Ben was arrested, and Hope was beside herself. He lied and told Hope his dad was there, his mother is sick, and he has to go to Mexico.
Hope broke down and Rafe almost changed his mind about leaving. However, Hope pushed him to go to his mother. She had the full support of the station to find Ciara. They tearfully said goodbye, too. Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
