The Days of Our Lives recap for March 9-13, 2020, features a pair of villains hurting the ones they claim to love, a baby switch being unraveled and more.
Author Richard Bach once cautioned that “If you love something let it go.” But rather than subscribe to that sound advice, SteVano (Stephen Nichols) and Evan (Brock Kelly) take the “If you love something cripple is so it can never leave you” approach.
The former has decided that his only alternative for gaining Marlena’s (Deidre Hall) affection is to implant the same brand of microchip that Hope Brady (Kristian Alfonso) is currently sporting into her brain.
He also found a great way to both keep Chad (Billy Flynn) in line and arrange for someone else to do his dirty work: brainwashing via hypnotic suggestion.
As for Evan – whose crazy side is much more easily explained now that we know his father is career criminal Orpheus – he’s decided that he is the much better option to raise baby David. And if he can’t have him he can always turn him over to dear old dad – just as long as Rafe (Galen Gering) can’t reclaim him.
Sarah: “You had that birthmark all along, didn’t you?” Well, since you asked Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) yes, the baby did indeed always have that birthmark. Too bad said baby actually belongs to Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) and Brady (Eric Masterson) – a fact that Nicole (Arianne Zucker) is quickly piecing together.
SteVano: “I once gave you a book of poems by John Keats…you read to me as I recovered; I would like to return the favor.” Stefano was recovering from a multi-story fall – the result of a Devil-possessed Marlena morphing into a hulking monstrosity and tossing him from her balcony.
SteVano: “Your procedure was a failure!” Rolf: “Keep reminding Marlena of your connection. Continue to reinforce positive thoughts of the two of you together…” Right, so don’t mention holding her and Liz Chandler hostage at Ridgecrest, don’t remind her you kidnapped Sami and Eric when they were babies, or that you planned to murder her to teach Roman a lesson or…
Gabi: “So Evan is David’s father? I thought he was gay…it just kind of adds to the weirdness of it all. I mean, he had a baby with Jordan and then he had a thing with Sonny.”
First of all, thank you Gabi – the Princess of Un-PC culture – for giving voice to what many fans were thinking. Secondly, isn’t it strange how Evan’s story parallels Will’s (Chandler Massey) own? He had a baby with Gabi – the result of a one-night-stand – and then went on to have a relationship with Sonny. No wonder Evan threatened to shoot him dead…mirror images can be frightening!
Princess Gina [on Ciara’s arrival at the hospital]: “Oh, goody Hope’s other child. I almost forgot she even existed.” And you’d be forgiven for doing so considering this is the first time in months that Ciara has had any interaction with anyone outside of Ben and the people involved in the quest for truth and justice.
Princess Gina: “You’re the one aiding and abetting a serial killer. How many innocent people did he murder in cold blood?” Four. Serena Mason, Paige Larson, and midwife Wendy Taylor. Days of Our Lives airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
