The Days of our Lives recap for Thursday, September 16, 2021, features Lani Price a-okaying her play daddy’s future plans, Paulina Price taking Marlena into her confidence, Doug Williams falling back into old patterns, and Johnny DiMera indulging in some nepotism.

Lani (Sal Stowers) is such a great person. Not only has she magnanimously forgiven Paulina (Jackée Harry) for being a bad auntie, but she’s totes cool with the idea of Abe Carver (James Reynolds) proposing marriage…sometime down the road.
But we, much like Paulina, wonder exactly how Lani is going to feel when the truth surrounding her complicated maternity comes out. Marlena Evans Black (Deidre Hall), whom Paulina took into her confidence – under strict doctor/patient confidentiality mind – seemed pretty sure that Abe and Lani would shrug it off, and move on.
DAYS Recap: The Rogue of Old
After a few cursory tests, Doug (Bill Hayes) is deemed fit as he ever was – which is music to Julie Williams’s (Susan Seaforth Hayes) ears. What wasn’t so melodic, was the following pointed question from Paulina: “Does your husband make it a habit of feeling women’s derrières?”

The answer: Not in the slightest…or, at least, not the Doug of 1984 and beyond. Now, the Doug from 1968…yeah, he would. This was a man who married a Polynesian princess for her money, who wormed his way into Julie’s affections because he had been paid to seduce and destroy, and who married her wealthy mother because Julie had the audacity to displease him. Paging Dr. Kayla Johnson (Mary Beth Evans)! Paging Dr. Kayla Johnson!
