The Days of Our Lives recap for Tuesday, July 7, 2020, features an episode full of heartbreak, reality checks, and moments of harsh clarity. The stage was set for two big ceremonies, but neither would go as planned.

Justin (Wally Kurth) waited until Hope (Kristian Alfonso) was alone and demanded answers. Hope admitted Steve (Stephen Nichols) did want Kayla back. She then made it clear Kayla was marrying HIM and not Steve and told him to enjoy his day. Of course, that was impossible now.
More Than Pre-Wedding Jitters
Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) was also having an emotional day. She looked back at her first wedding, took a call from her son, and was struggling to pull herself together when Jennifer (Melissa Reeves) arrived. Jen helped her into her dress, gifted her a bracelet from Adrienne, and asked if she was having second thoughts.
Jack came in just as Kayla was admitted that yes, she did have cold feet. She spent years with a soulmate. But, that was then, this is now. She knows what she wants and it’s a guy like Justin.
Steve’s Outta Here
As for Steve, he got the lowdown on the Justin drama from Hope but it didn’t change anything. There wasn’t time anyway. He and Hope took the stage and accepted their keys (despite Steve reminiscing about Kayla) and went off to lunch with John and Marlena.

Then, Steve dropped a bomb. No, he was not fighting for Kayla. In fact, he didn’t want to be around to ruin things for her. He asked John to give him a case that would take him to Europe for years so he and Kayla could live their lives.
Back at the Kiriakis mansion, it was smiles all around as Will (Chandler Massey), Sonny (Freddie Smith), and even Victor (John Aniston) prepared the house for the wedding. They wanted it all to be perfect for the couple, especially Justin.
A Wedding Moment Shocker
Things took a turn when Justin got home. He was sulky and sullen and struggled to put on a happy face. He said it was because he missed Adrienne and the men bought it. Little did they know it was a lie.
Kayla arrived, the ceremony was about to start but she broke her shoe. The delay gave Justin too many extra moments to think. By the time she got to the altar, he was beside himself and ended up stopping the ceremony. Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
