The Days of our Lives recap for Wednesday, February 17, 2021, features Sarah and Xander surpassing each other, Gwen making another wrong move, and the Horton/Deveraux family saying goodbye to Laura.
Days of our Lives Recap Highlights
It was the day of Laura’s (Jaime Lyn Bauer) much-too-soon funeral and her family members were a mess. Abigail (Marci Miller) vowed revenge and told Chad (Billy Flynn) she would make Gwen pay. Poor Jennifer (Cady McClain) was at home trying to count her blessings while preparing to say goodbye to her mom.
A Small Send-Off
The funeral happened off-screen, of course (why say goodbye to a legend the right way, Days?). Jennifer was a mess in the aftermath of the short ceremony. She cried on Jack’s (Matthew Ashford) shoulder and tried to make plans to take care of Laura’s affairs. Abby stayed behind for a few precious moments alone.
Gwen Felt The Heat
Meanwhile, Gwen (Emily O’Brien) was in the square reading Jen’s scathing article about Laura’s suspicious death. It presented Gwen in a very bad light. She was clearly worried. That is where Jake found her after he offered his condolences to Abby and kissed Kate goodbye for the day.
Gwen tried to give him a sob story of how Laura ruins her life, arrived at the hotel ranting, and accidentally died. It was all Laura’s fault and not Gwen’s at all. Jake did not buy it. Gwen got all teary-eyed and decided to take a stroll to the cemetery. She and Abby came face to face at Laura’s grave.
Gabi Pitched Her Pitch
Over at Titan, Gabi (Camila Banus) was shocked to find out Xander was no longer part of the company. She decided to roll with the punches and present her proposal to Philip instead. He was not as excited as his old partner, though. Gabi found herself barking up the wrong tree.
Gabi finally got Philip to agree to at least look over her paperwork just as Kate arrived. The ladies swapped a few snips and Gabi went on her way. She ran smack dab into Jake in the square.
Marry Me!
Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) had to work through Valentine’s Day but she and Xander (Paul Telfer) did not miss the romance. He got down on one knee and presented her with a ring. She stayed standing and presented him with a cake. They each proposed and they each said yes. Xander and Sarah are now engaged. Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC.
