The Days of our Lives recap for Monday, July 19, 2021, features Nicole Walker Brady being forced to come clean to her husband, Eric Brady becoming disillusioned with married life, and Belle Black rightfully suspecting that Sami Brady DiMera is up to absolutely no good.
Xander Cook (Paul Telfer) delighted in spilling all of his and Nicole’s (Arianne Zucker) tea – though the assemblage at the Brady Pub weren’t exactly prepared to take him at his word…hence his involving Sami (Alison Sweeney) in the discussion.
Sami too took great pleasure in recounting seeing Nicole and Xander drunkenly stumble into the Salem Inn together, but she promised that she’d only been investigating the possibility of Nicole’s adultery in order to spare her brother a life-lived with a cheating liar.
After punching Xander (!), Eric (Greg Vaughan) demanded the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth from his missus. Nicole couldn’t quite form the necessary words, but she finally communicated that yes, she had strayed…with Xander.
In response, Eric headed for the hills – really the apartment that he and Nicole share – followed close behind by Marlena Evans Black (Deidre Hall) and Roman Brady (Josh Taylor), his concerned parents.
Nicole remained behind long enough to receive support from bestie Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin), and to not so subtly imply that Sami had stepped out on her own marriage; hubby EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) was quick to pick up what Mrs. Walker Brady was putting down, and at the first available opportunity, he asked Sami what she had to hide.
Having committed his foul deed, a bruised Xander returned to the Horton abode and set about counting his cool million. Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) barged in and delivered both a harsh (and hypocritical) indictment of Xander’s action and his employee’s walking papers. After catching sight of the cash-stuffed briefcase, Brady demanded to know exactly who it was that put Xander up to his chicanery.
Though she had no other proof than sisterly intuition, Belle Black Brady (Martha Madison) warned John Black (Drake Hogestyn) that Eric’s misfortune had been orchestrated by Sami. John didn’t want to believe the worst about his step-daughter, but since he’s well aware that she is the worst, he did have to give credence to Tink’s theory.
