Always the romantic, John (Drake Hogestyn) planned to sweep Marlena (Deidre Hall) off her feet. He set up a sizzling private dinner at the pub to celebrate their six-month anniversary. It was just what the couple needed to reconnect.
Fix Yourself!
Maggie (Suzanne Rogers) was on the warpath today. First, she went after Rex (Kyle Lowder) about putting the pressure on Sarah to marry and then she went after Sarah. She sat her daughter down for a grueling heart to heart over the state of her affairs.
Too Close!
Meanwhile, Victor (John McCook) was getting a little too cozy with Kate. He was blowing off steam at the club and trying to figure out what to do about Sarah when Kate sat down with him. They talked, they reminisced, and they bonded over life.
A Terrible Turn
Rafe (Galen Gearing) had the daunting task of telling Hope about the accident and she then had to break the news to Nicole. They rushed to the scene to see the damage and no one could believe their eyes.

Playing The Game
Meanwhile, Ted (Gilles Marini) did everything he could to track down Xander. Their bait and switch plan went off without a hitch but the DA was not about to let the kidnapper slip away. Then, Ted did the unthinkable and showed up at the accident site.
Two Massive Twists!
Things went from bad to worse when the scene took another horrifying turn. The van exploded before their very eyes cementing the belief that everyone inside (including Holly) was dead.
They were right about no survivors. An adult male and a female child were removed from the van. Were they really Holly and her kidnapper? No, of course not!
While everyone was in shock over the little girl’s death, Xander was sending Holly off to her new home. By the time he caught up with Ted, Holly was already settled in.
