The Days of Our Lives recap for June 29-July 3, 2020, features a thrice interrupted – though ultimately successful – wedding, a supposed DNA match, and so much more.
Days of Our Lives Recap Highlights
All Eli (Lamon Archey) and Lani (Sal Stowers) asked for was a quiet, simple wedding. What they got was a horror show. First, the bride’s mother spilled out and onto the floor, then Gabi (Camila Banus) came-a-calling, and to top it all off, Vivian Alamain (Louise Sorel) smashed her way inside…and this vengeance-seeking mother had a handgun!
Luckily Rafe (Galen Gering) was able to save the day – with a perfectly-timed entrance and the revelation that Vivian’s plan for retribution might not be necessary – and the ceremony was able to recommence. The third time proved to be the charm, and soon Lani and Eli were declared Mr. and Mrs.!
Identity Crisis
The results are in, and they say that Jake Lambert (Brandon Barash) and Stefan DiMera (also Brandon Barash) are one and the same. That’s music to Gabi and Vivian’s ears, but it’s a crushing blow to the man himself.
Baby Be Mine
Never has a pregnant teenager been in more demand than Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold). Well, it’s not so much Allie who is wanted as her unborn child. Will (Chandler Massey) and Sonny (Freddie Smith) are chomping at the bit to get a hold of what’s she’s cooking and Rafe is giving the young woman’s proposal that he adopt her baby serious consideration.
Which perspective parent(s) will emerge victoriously? We’re gonna hazard the guess that it’s whoever can best deal with Sami’s (Alison Sweeney) fury.
DAYS Musings
Do we buy Claire’s (Olivia Rose Keegan) claim that she is NOT the one responsible for the damage done to Ciara’s (Victoria Konefal) wedding dress?
Show of hands, who suspects that Chad (Billy Flynn) – while still under the hypnotic control of Stevano – poisoned Abigail (Kate Mansi)?
Julie to Eli: “Today…I’ve been thinking about your dad. A lot. He’d be so proud of you Elo. I wish he was here, to see you get married…” For newer viewers, Eli’s father is David Banning, Julie’s son with David Martin
Julie: “My grandfather, Dr. Thomas Horton, was a wonderful poet. And he introduced me to poetry.” In fact, Tom wrote his sonnets (which were frequently inspired by, and always dedicated to, Alice) under the pen name Norm De Plume and he briefly became a cause celebrate thanks to his work.
Julie to Eli and Lani: “I’m sure that when you heard Gabi’s voice you must have thought that this wedding was cursed too but, the ding dong witch is gone. I understand how you feel..” And Julie just isn’t saying that.
Way back in 1981, her second wedding to Doug was momentarily marred by the appearance of Lee Dumonde – Doug’s ex-wife. The groom-to-be sprang into action and locked the troublemaker inside his home’s den…then stepped outside and married the love of his life. Days of Our Lives airs weekdays on NBC.
