There’s no doubt about it — Tripp’s Days of our Lives introduction was a bit of a head-scratcher. His age was off, his relationships were off, his personality was off, and then, the one character keeping him tied to the canvas, Steve, was off the show.
He started off rough, hating Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) for things she had nothing to do with and trying to frame her for malpractice. Thankfully, Tripp (Lucas Adams) soon got over himself.
He made up, and even became friends with his stepmother, and moved on to dating Claire (Olivia Rose Keegan), Ciara (Victoria Konefal), and, eventually, pretending to marry Haley (Thia Megia) in order to keep her in the United States. All good soapy stuff.
Tripp was finally showing all the signs of being a long-term daytime hero – just like Steve (Stephen Nichols) – when, all of a sudden, he announced that he’d gotten off the waiting list for an out-of-town medical school, packed his bags, and left Salem.
All in about the same amount of time that it took you to read that sentence. Since his departure was so quick, we need you to make an equally quick decision. Should Tripp return? What fans told us about the quandary.
We’re a little low on hot, young leading men, 68% assert. Especially now that Claire is back. Come home, Tripp, we miss you!
There is no room for Tripp on the canvas right now. And 18% of the audience would much rather see a legacy character like Allie’s brother Johnny return then a character who never should have existed in the first place.
A more generous 14% of you are OK with a short term visit. Tripp can catch up with Steve, with Ciara at her wedding, tell Claire to behave… and head right on out again. Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
