Days of Our LivesDays of Our Lives

Isn’t it peculiar how, on Days Of Our Lives, some people are in and out of jail in minutes — or never go at all, no matter how bad the crime — while other go behind bars… and are never seen again?

Joey Johnson, Steve (Stephan Nichols) and Kayla’s (Mary Beth Evans) son, went to prison in 2017 for killing Ava (Tamra Braun)… and hasn’t been heard from since. Is it time for this member of a core family to return to Salem? What almost 5,000 think:

Days of Our Lives Poll Results

If you were a parole board, Joey would be packing up his stuff to go home now, as 90% of the voters are handing out pardons. If Kristen (Stacey Haiduk), Abigail (Kate Mansi), Victor (John Aniston), Xander (Paul Telfer), and Hattie (Deidre Hall) are walking around free, if Gabi (Camila Banus) can serve two truncated jail terms, if Stefano and Andre can keep coming back from the dead, why is Joey the only one being forced to serve his debt to society?

OK, technically, Will (Chandler Massey) and Ben (Robert Scott Wilson) are also currently in lock-up, but who expects either of them to remain there for long?

Joey should be treated just like everyone else in Salem, and have his crimes overlooked — especially if they can be justified away with well, you know Ava was asking for it…. (And Tripp isn’t around anymore to remind us there was anyone who ever cared about her. Even if they never met.)

Throw Away the Key

Only 10% of the audience think someone should pay for their crimes… for a change. Joey manned up and took the blame for what he did — and accepted the consequences. Don’t make his gesture prove meaningless with a quick pardon and reintegration into society. Besides, it’s not like Steve is around for a family reunion…Or is he? Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
