On Days of our Lives, Steve is finally Steve again, not a Stefano clone. He knows who he is. He knows what he’s done. And he knows that the love of his life is now with another man.
That hurts. Steve (Stephen Nichols) didn’t deliberately abandon Kayla (Mary Beth Evans). But she thought he had, and so moved on with Justin (Wally Kurth). Where does that leave Steve? Almost 6,000 fans shared their thoughts… and their hopes:
A winning 60% know their boy, Steve. And they know that Steve won’t let anything stop him in winning back his ‘Sweetness.’ Sure, it may be a little stalker-ish. Sure, it doesn’t respect the wishes of the woman he supposedly loves. But this is a soap opera, not sensitivity training! Steve has a vaguely dark past. It’s time to put it to good use! Everything is fair in love and war!
A smaller 31% of the audience is open to a Steve and Hope (Kristian Alfonso) pairing. He’s alone… She’s alone… She’s Bo’s (Peter Reckell) widow… He’s Bo’s ex-best friend. They have oodles in common and have known each other forever. Bo might even have been happy with the idea. And it is bound to drive Kayla nuts.
A tiny 9% of you figure Steve will shrug, wipe away a tear in a manly way, and head out of town, as dark, brooding, and mysterious as the way he came. And that’s OK. Steve was off the canvas for years and life in Salem moved on. Maybe he just doesn’t fit anymore.
Both his sons and his daughter are… somewhere. Kayla turned him down in favor of staying with Justin. Is there a clearer way to express that you’re not wanted here anymore? Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
