For over a decade, actor Wally Kurth has held a very special distinction. He is the only star in daytime who plays two separate characters, on two separate soap operas on two separate networks. He can currently be seen on both NBC’s Days of Our Lives and ABC’s General Hospital but fans of his Salem alter ego are about to get a whole lot more Kurth!
During an exclusive chat with Carly Brockl, the host of Blog Talk Radio’s Daytime After Dark Podcast, Kurth revealed that he is now under contract at Days of Our Lives and will be appearing “full force” in a major storyline set to begin in November.
He goes on to tease that the fans will be, “seeing a lot of him,” following a “big twist” that will take place next month. Thanks to a recent interview with Days of Our Lives stars Deidre Hall and Drake Hogestyn we now know that the major storyline will involve the lone NBC sudser doing a large time jump, a first for daytime.
But what exactly the storyline will entail, or what Kurth’s particular involvement will be, remains to be seen. The beloved actor debuted on Days of Our Lives in the role of Justin Kiriakis in February of 1987 and he remained apart of the canvas until 1991.
That same year Wally Kurth transitioned over to General Hospital – another daily serial – to take over the role of Ned Aston.
Kurth has appeared on both shows in a recurring capacity since 2009. Days of Our Lives airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
