Days of our Lives News Update: Judi Evans Suffers Serious Riding Injury

Judi Evans could use some prayers and well-wishes from soap fans right now. The Days of our Lives actress suffered severe injuries last weekend that landed her in the hospital.

Freak Accident For Judi Evans

According to a rep for the actress, Evans was out riding her horse on a trail in Los Angeles on Saturday when the horse started nipping at her feet. Evans didn’t realize why but then noticed there were a few men following her whom she didn’t know. Did her horse sense some danger? Evans got on her horse and went down a different path. The horse got spooked, bolted, and Evans fell backward.

The Daytime Emmy-winner’s rep adds that Evans suffered a broken collarbone, seven broken ribs, two chipped vertebrae, and a collapsed lung from blunt force trauma.

Evans didn’t lose consciousness after her fall. Fortunately, some other riders came along and called for help. An ambulance came and brought her to a hospital. At press time, she was still hospitalized and there was no information available on when she’d be released.

Evans’s first soap was actually DAYS. She played the short-term rule of Nurse Becky before landing her Daytime Emmy-winning role of Beth Raines on Guiding Light. After spending three years in Springfield, Evans moved to Los Angeles to take on the contract role of Adrienne Johnson on Days of our Lives. Next, she took over the part of Paulina Cory on Another World and played that until the show ended in 1999.

Evans created a third role on DAYS next, as Bonnie Lockhart, Mimi’s (Farah Fath Galfond) social-climbing mom. Over the years, Evans has played both Adrienne and Bonnie on DAYS. Last year, Adrienne was killed off in a car accident, but there are reports that Evans will be back on-screen in the future. Whether that’s as a resurrected Adrienne or Bonnie or someone else remains to be seen.
