Days of Our Lives News Update: Judi Evans Is Home And Recovering

The love between Justin and Adrienne will never die on Days of Our Lives despite Adrienne having gone to that great soap in the sky. Off-screen, the fondness between their portrayers, Wally Kurth and Judi Evans, is evident given one of Kurth’s recent tweets.

Good News For Judi Evans

“Happy to say Judi IS home and recuperating,” Kurth posted about his DAYS co-stars. “Thanks for alll your positivity and love sent her way.”

As Soap Hub readers are likely aware, Evans has been through quite the ordeal recently. Last month, she fell from a horse,which led to a hospitalization. There, the doctor’s discovered a blood clot that needed treatment. While hospitalized, Evans contracted COVID-19. There was a concern that Evans’ legs were going to be amputed, but that, fortunately, didn’t happen.

Now, per Kurth’s tweet, Evans is at home resting. Soap Hub sends sincere wishes to the actress that she continues to recover.

What some fans may not know is that Evans’ first soap was DAYS. She had a brief role on the show as a nurse named Becky in 1983 before taking on the contract role of Beth Raines on Guiding Light. Evans won a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 1984 for her work on GL. She exited the role of Beth in 1986 and before the year was over, she landed the role of Adrienne Johnson, who went on to find love with Justin.

After leaving DAYS, Evans took over the role of Paulina on Another World. She remained in Bay City until the NBC went off the air in 1999. Next, Evans returned to DAYS in a third role — Bonnie Lockhart.

After Bonnie went off to jail, Evans reprised Adrienne. In more recent years, she’s played both Bonnie and Adrienne — until Adrienne was killed off last year in one of the stories involved in the show’s much-publicized “time jump.”

Kurth has shared on Twitter that Evans will be back in Salem once more. But whether or not she plays Bonnie or a resurrected Adrienne remains to be seen! Days of Our Lives airs weekdays on NBC. Check local listings for air times.
