Fans of Days of our Lives would love nothing more than to see Alison Sweeney return to the show full-time and have Sami a regular resident of Salem again, but the actress has maintained quite the busy workload since departing the soap. And frankly, she’s missing life on the set.
Alison Sweeney Looks Back
Her most recent project, Time for You to Come Home for Christmas, aired on the Hallmark Channel this past Christmas, and Sweeney posted a throwback photo of her with co-star Lucas Bryant on her Instagram page. The pair is posing on an ice rink in a shot from the movie.
“A fun #throwbackthursday to the last movie I filmed before all this craziness,” the actress wrote. “Time for You to Come Home for Christmas is airing again on @hallmarkmovie tonight. I loved working on this project. The ice skating scene was one of my favorites ever! Hope we can get back to work soon.”
The movie tells the story of a recent widow who travels with her son to her Virginia hometown for the holidays, meeting a veteran along the way who coincidentally is heading in the same direction.
As the two continue to spend time together, the pair unsurprisingly grow closer. As Christmas nears, they learn of a bond that may be the miracle they need. The project was produced by country music star and longtime The Voice judge, Blake Shelton.
Sweeney has been off DAYS for a while—her last appearance coming in June of 2019—but thankfully Sami is scheduled to be popping up in Salem this fall. While details about the reason for her return are being kept under wraps, it’s a good bet that Sami will be causing some trouble for many in Salem.
And might she possibly meet a new stranger herself on the way home? Maybe Bryant is free for a reunion! Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
