Days of our Lives’ Alison Sweeney regularly posts Instagram videos of her cooking along with her daughter Meghan, and today the duo welcomed a special guest to their video series—none other than Sweeney’s long-time onscreen sister, Christie Clark.
“Today, she and I are going to be cooking together and I’m so excited because it’s Christie’s recipe,” Sweeney shared with those watching the video.
Both Sweeney and her daughter spent the morning taking pony riding lessons, so the actress said they were both “super hungry” and excited for the cooking (and eating!) to come.
Sadly, there were some tech issues with linking the two at first, but they figured it out and then the fun began. After catching up a bit—including talking about Clark’s weeks-long battle with coronavirus, TikTok dances, and lighting tips learned from Deidre Hall—the cooking began.
The recipe for crunchy broccoli salad is one of Clark’s favorites and one she makes every week.
“I love anything you can pre-make before people come over and just pull it out, and it’s a ‘wow’ dish,” Clark said. “It’s so much better the second day and it lasts for three days in the fridge. I will literally eat it for three days straight.”
The ingredients include chopped broccoli, pistachio seeds, red onions, cashew nuts, carrots, sunflower seeds, cranberries, celery, and bacon. Sweeney added pomegranate seeds to her own. Next came the dressing, and then everything was mixed together.
“Thank you @monkeywenches for sharing your fantastic broccoli salad recipe,” Sweeney posted alongside the video. “Perfect for summer and winter. And any time! Love chatting with you. Miss you.”
Clark thanked the mother-and-daughter team with her own Instagram post saying, “Sweet Ali & Meghan that was so much fun! Thank you for including me in your cooking show. Haven’t had show time tingles for a while! I even shaved my legs as if I was doing a love scene on #Days Big kisses @alisweeney”
It’s been a while since Carrie and Sami have been together in Salem, but with Alison Sweeney headed back soon, perhaps her big sis isn’t too far behind. Who knows what kind of trouble the two Brady gals could cook up together again. Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
