While it looks like Claire Brady will be sticking around Salem for a while, she won’t have the face fans have grown to love. That’s because recent Daytime Emmy winning actress Olivia Rose Keegan will be vacating the role this month, but a new actress has already stepped into her fiery shoes.
According to Jason47’s DAYS Website, daytime newcomer Isabel Durant will be taking over the coveted role of Belle (Martha Madison) and Shawn’s (Brandon Beemer) troubled daughter.
While she may be new to American soaps, Australian-born Durant was a contestant on that country’s So You Think You Can Dance in 2010 and was also a regular on Dance Academy two years later.
In 2016, she played Kelly on This Is Us and in 2018, she played Shari in the Dan Fogelman-written/directed film, Life Itself, which starred Star Wars alum Oscar Isaac, Olivia Wilde, and Annette Bening.
Days of our Lives needed to make the change after Keegan landed a recurring role on Season 2 of High School Musical: The Musical – The Series. Soap Hub reported that news back in March that she will be playing Lily, who is described as “an energetic and adorable East High freshman whose sweetness masks her insecurity and highly competitive nature.”
Will Claire still have an interest in writing music now that someone else is playing her or will the show decide to tailor it more to Durant’s particular skill set — perhaps dancing? Currently, in Salem, Claire is trying to prove herself to everyone that she has indeed changed and no longer looks to solve issues by lighting people on fire.
She has teamed up with Ciara (Victoria Konefal) to help her find a missing Ben (Robert Scott Wilson). Will they succeed? Stay tuned to find out. Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
