Days of our Lives News: Matthew Ashford Suffers Loss Of His Mom

Condolences are going to Days of our Lives star Matthew Ashford. The actor, who plays Jack Deveraux on the NBC serial, has shared a devastating loss.

“My dear Mom, Patricia (89) just passed away while I was onstage with Wally Kurth (Justin),” Ashford posted on Twitter. “With my Dad and sisters-she was lucid and peaceful. She was probably the first actor I ever encountered and she always encouraged me. Even when rendered speechless by stroke she could say more!”

Last year, the actor gave his beloved mother a shoutout on Instagram for her birthday, which was October 31. You can see in the post below that Patricia got into the Halloween spirit by donning a witch’s black heart and a T-shirt that reads “This Is My AWESOME GRANDA Costume.”

The actor’s social media post is already amassing numerous comments with followers expressing deep sympathy.

“I am so sorry Matt,” wrote Myrtle McGovern. “I am so sorry Matt. Know you and all her babies were in her heart and thoughts to the last minute and she will live within you all. Sending love, comfort and a shoulder to lean on always!”

“Matt, I’m so sorry,” posted Kelli Gustafson. “You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. Sending you and yours lots of support and love.

“I’m so very sorry for your loss,” says Tiffany Groce. “My sincere condolences to you and your family. Prayers.”

Ashford has been in the soap world since he joined the cast of One Life to Live as Drew Ralston in 1982. His other credits include Cagney McCleary on Search for Tomorrow and Dr. Tom Hardy on General Hospital.
