The coronavirus put a temporary stop to the production of four Los Angeles-based soap operas — however, they are now back in production. The pandemic has also caused actors, including Days of Our Lives star Kate Mansi, to put some personal matters on hold, too.
Kate Mansi: Wedding Blues
“Just weeks away, our wedding is officially canceled,” Mansi, known to DAYS fans as Abigail, lamented in an Instagram post. “I didn’t have the heart to discard our gorgeous @mintedweddings invitations so my fiancé [Blake Levin] suggested we still send them, but with a giant CANCELED: DUE TO PANDEMIC stamp. I (obviously) cringed at the suggestion originally, but said we’d order the custom stamp ‘just to see’.
“Truthfully,” the Daytime Emmy winner continues, “when the package with the stamp arrived the next day I didn’t even remember placing the urgent overnighted order with the first company that came up when I googled ‘Custom Rubber Stamps’. It’s all a blur. But I had somehow followed through and ordered it so I had to give it a try.
“As it turns out,” Mansi shares, “the activity of stamping each invitation- felt exceptionally good. It felt real. (I highly recommend it to any of you COVID brides facing a pivot). Our custom invitations that were designed with such thoughtfulness and detail thanks to @mintedweddings, have now become our friends/family’s favorite memento of this strange time we’re all in thanks to my fiancé’s creative sense of humor.
“And to Karla at CustomStamps …. sorry about the tears, and thanks for the reminder that I’m ‘only human,'” Mansi philosophizes. “You’re right, it sucks and we all ‘just have to keep doing our best’.”
Mansi’s daytime pals are weighing in with words of support. “This is a beautiful chapter in your story of togetherness! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️💋,” posted Eileen Davidson (Ashley, The Young and the Restless; ex-Kristen/ex-Susan, Days of Our Lives). Soap Hub will keep readers updated when Mansi announces a new date! Days of our Lives airs weekdays on NBC. Check local listings for air times.
