Kassie DePaiva always seems to have a ball playing Days of our Lives vixen Eve Donovan, but the soap vet is departing the show’s canvas once again.
DePaiva confirmed on her Twitter page what fans probably had already figured out after watching Friday’s show —Eve’s time in Salem is over once again.
“It’s a bummer #Eve got caught. Today’s my final air show,” the actress tweeted, referring to her character being arrested for kidnapping Ben. “Thank you [DAYS head writer Ron Carlivati] for this chance have fun in Salem. Thank you #Days fans for always taking a ride with this character’s journey… no matter how bumpy.”
After more than two decades off the canvas, the character of Eve returned to Salem in 2014 with the former One Life to Live star now playing the role originated by Charlotte Ross. DePaiva would come and go throughout the next five years, but she made quite an impression on people like Jennifer, Jack, and Ben.
She left in late 2019, but made a shocking return this July, responsible for the bomb at Ben and Ciara’s wedding. Eve wanted revenge on the former Necktie Killer for her daughter’s death. But Hope finally succeeded in bringing Eve in and it’s off to jail — for now at least.
Judging by the response of fans to her post, many are going to miss seeing DePaiva and her duplicitous ways on the show. Tweet after tweet sent praise for her work since Eve’s return and seem to be telling The Powers That Be that they would welcome her back to Salem, no matter what has happened in her past. After all, Eve has been troubled most of her life but the character always seems to come back strong.
DAYS castmate Linsey Godfrey (Sarah) was also among those expressing their sadness that DePaiva was leaving the show.
“There is no one better than [Kassie],” the actress wrote. “I wish I got to work with her more but man am I grateful for the friendship she has given and the sunshine she exudes when you’re in her presence. I love you Kassie.”
Her words meant a lot to DePaiva, who answered saying, “Thank you beautiful girl…I feel the same way about you. You are a courageous and fierce fighter for the good in the world. Love you and keep shining your light❤️.” Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
