The clock is ticking on Galen Gering’s time as Rafe Hernandez in Salem, but the Days of our Lives actor is making sure his fans enjoy a little fun before he goes.
On his Instagram account, Gering has been posting some behind-the-scenes footage from the DAYS set, with the most recent showing some more insider action to the long-awaited wedding of star-crossed lovers Ciara (Victoria Konefal) and Ben (Robert Scott Wilson).
In the first video, Gering calls out two crew members who made sure the wedding party could walk down the aisle safely. “If you’ve ever wondered how those doors opened so smoothly let me introduce you to Albert and Mark. They make it all happen,” the actor wrote, next to the video that shows the crew members allowing access to the church.
He even captures the beautiful bride right before Konefal learns that the place she’s sitting can be seen on camera and they’re forced to reshoot after the laughs.
A second video shows Gering trying to “help” by tricking some debris on his on-screen sister, despite the crew member clearly telling him he doesn’t need any help!
“Also, there’s me doing more special effects work. I try and help out on set,” he wrote. “And yes [Camila] is gonna kill me. Luv ya sis!”
That video encouraged Camila Banus who plays his sister, Gabi, to weigh in on Instagram herself. “Hahahaaaaa what are big brothers for hahaaaaa !!!!!! Love this !!!!” she wrote.
It will be a sad day when Rafe exits the DAYS canvas, and it’s nice that the actor seems to be having some fun on his way out and showing just how much he enjoyed working with the cast and crew on the show.
