Christopher Sean, who played John’s son Paul Narita on Days of our Lives, is joining the DC Universe. The actor took to Instagram and announced that he will be playing a fan-favorite role from the Batman lore in a new video game.
“I am Nightwing,” he posted, next to an emblem of the character’s logo. Nightwing first appeared in comics in 1940 as the new identity of Dick Grayson when he reinvented himself after his role as Batman’s vigilante partner Robin was no longer needed. He would become the most popular incarnation of Robin among fans.
The game, entitled Gotham Knights, follows what happens when Batman dies and Gotham City is under siege from the criminal element. It’s up to the Batman family, including Nightwing, Batgirl, Red Hood, and Robin, to protect its citizens. The goal of the game is to evolve into the new Dark Knight.
Other voice actors in the title include America Young as Batgirl, Stephen Oyoung as Red Hood, Sloan Morgan Siegel as Robin, and Gildart Jackson as Alfred.
Gotham Knights was recently previewed at a DCFandom event and a demo showed Batgirl and Robin chasing down icy villain Mr. Freeze with the heroes battling against the very scary Court of Owls.
The game, which is developed by Warner Bros. Montreal, the team behind 2013’s popular Batman: Arkham Origins, is slated to be released in 2021 and will be available for PC, PS4, Xbox One, PS5, and Xbox Series X upon launch.
Sean knows something about huge fandoms, having starred in the Star Wars animated series Star Wars Resistance as Kazuda Xiono, becoming the first actor of Asian heritage to lead a Star Wars cast. So between these two roles, expect a lot of Comic Cons in his future.
Of course, Sean was also heroic on DAYS, helping John and Steve at their detective agency Black Patch. Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
