Days of our Lives News: Cast Is Back On Set Ready For New Episodes

It’s been more than five months since the coronavirus pandemic shut down production on Days of our Lives, and while the other three daytime soaps already started shooting new episodes in August, NBC’s lone show was still holding off.

But, now that the calendar has turned to September, DAYS is back in production, and the cast couldn’t be happier.

Eric Martsolf, who plays Salem’s Brady Black, posted on his Twitter page the happy news.

“Shot some television today,” he tweeted next to an image of the familiar hourglass that has been associated with the soap since its beginning. “Shout out to the production team at this award-winning program for its outstanding precautionary measures to assure a safe workplace for all. Damn impressive. Let’s roll.”

Paul Telfer, who plays Xander Kiriakis, was quick to respond to Martsolf’s message and express his gratitude that work had begun again.

“Really want to echo Eric here – so grateful to the amazing [Days] team for going above and beyond to protect us and get the show up and running again,” he said.

The actor also appeased one fan’s fear that there would be lots of noticeable differences in the show, answering her query about if there were more breaks between shooting scenes.

“Not really, most of the big changes are offset,” he said. “Once we’re on set it’s similar to before.”

Castmate Brandon Barash (Jake), also joined the Twitter party in replying to Martsolf’s tweet. “Damnit — I missed you!” he wrote.

Of course, Days of our Lives had the luxury of starting production a little later than the other soaps because it films so far ahead that it had enough episodes already in the can so that there was no break in storylines onscreen.
