Alison Sweeney may have just reappeared in Salem as Days of our Lives fan-favorite Sami, but the actress has another role on her mind this month.
Alison Sweeney Delivers Holiday Cheer
Sweeney took to her Instagram account to talk about starting a new Hallmark Christmas movie this week. Though details of the new movie are being kept under wraps, Sweeney is thrilled that things are underway. As with most productions filming now, she needs to quarantine for a bit before being allowed on set, and she’s making the most of her time in her temporary home.
“Loving my temporary Quarantine Home,” she wrote next to a photo of her enjoying a nice summer day as she prepared to start filming. “The owners were so generous as to share their beautiful garden with me and I am making the most of it!”
Of course, Sweeney is no stranger to Hallmark or Christmas-themed movies. She appeared in 2017’s Christmas at Holly Lodge and last year’s Time for You to Come Home for Christmas. In the latter, the actress played Katherine, a single widowed mom venturing to her Virginia hometown for the holidays. On her way, she met up with Lucas Bryant’s Jack on a train and they develop a friendship that turns into something more thanks to the magic of Christmas.

Her third Christmas-themed movie is expected out this holiday season and the actress admits she’s “very excited to get going” on the film, even though it’s not exactly winter weather outside.
“Funny to be working on a Christmas script in the warm summer sun,” she said.
Fans need not worry, Sweeney will continue to appear on DAYS as Sami is reportedly back on the canvas for a while, and she’ll continue to create havoc for her kids and those around her. Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
