Chandler Massey will be exiting Days of our Lives this week and one person who will greatly miss working side by side with the actor is his on-screen mom, Alison Sweeney.
The actress posted two photos on her Instagram account—one with her and Massey and another where she poses with both members of WilSon as Freddie Smith joins in—and talked about how much working with her on-screen son has meant to her over the years.
“Chandler, you’re smart, funny, charming, and supportive,” Sweeney wrote. “You bring all that empathy and energy to every scene and I just can’t begin to tell you how much it’s meant to me.”
Sweeney and Massey have shared countless scenes over the years and had plenty of loving and emotional moments that will not soon be forgotten by DAYS fans. Between Will coming out as gay, arguments over Sami’s love life, or more recently, WilSon’s attempt to get custody of Allie’s baby, things seem to always come to a boil before their love for one another smooths things out.
“Every scene – especially the hard, emotional ones (aren’t they all 😭 😂😂) you were ready to commit to each moment and help make our work the best it can be,” Sweeney wrote. “I am so lucky and grateful you took on the role of Will.”
Obviously, Sami was not happy to hear that her son was heading out of town, yelling, “The Hell you are” when Will told her he was leaving Salem. But after another of their famous heart-to-hearts, Sami gave Will and Sonny her blessing and wished them well on their new adventure.
With Sami back in town for now, it hopefully won’t be too long before Will comes for a visit and the actors reconnect on screen. Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
