There’s a lot to complain about in 2020, but Days of our Lives icon Alison Sweeney is not letting things get her down—even as she lost power to her home. The actress posted a photo of herself on Instagram showing how she took the latest development in stride.
Alison Sweeney Takes Advantage Of Tuesday
“Quarantine days … lol. The power went out for a few hours yesterday,” she wrote next to the image of her reading outside on the stairs. “I definitely panicked for a minute. Ok, an hour. But then I adjusted my thinking and actually enjoyed the time.”
Later that night, she posted again to her account talking about one of her favorite Tuesday pastimes—Taco Tuesday. “I’ve missed you,” Sweeney wrote next to a photo of her latest taco creation. “Wait. It is Tuesday right?”
As most fans know, Sweeney is returning to Days of our Lives on a full-time basis, the first time she’s been a regular since 2014. She first started on the show in 1993 and spent 21 years there before exiting, though she has returned for small stints.
Currently, Sami is deeply involved in the custody hearing of her grandson, battling Nicole (Arianne Zucker) over the right to raise Allie’s (Lindsay Arnold) baby. With Sami representing herself, Sweeney is giving fans everything they love about the character.
Though the scenes currently airing were filmed prior to the pandemic, Sweeney will be part of the new post-COVID tapings and her time in Salem should feel somewhat continuous to viewers.
The show is being quiet about what’s in store for the fan-favorite troublemaker, but expect Sweeney to be involved in a very interesting Sami-centric story of her own. As for her love life, could we see EJ make a miraculous return to health? Will she be there to comfort ex-love Rafe (Galen Gering), or should we expect a new man in her life? With Sami, anything’s possible.
One thing’s for sure, it’s probably safe to assume that Sami won’t be “off the grid” as her portrayal had to endure, as she probably wouldn’t stand for her power being out and would be yelling at someone and plotting immediate revenge! Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
