Chad DiMera’s wife, Abigail Deveraux DiMera, has been stabbed to death on Days of our Lives. Chad is a widower now, with two small children to take care of.

Days of our Lives Polling

He also has a family company that suddenly seems a lot less important, and absolutely no idea what to do with the rest of his life. Never fear – the audience has plenty of suggestions for him!

Mourning Becomes Him

This isn’t even a question, 52% of you insist. Chad (Billy Flynn) should mourn starting now and should continue to do so for a very, very long time. We realize this is Salem, where the loves of one’s life are buried, and another one is found before the coffin has been lowered into the ground (when there’s a body to bury, there is). But Chad and Abigail (Marci Miller) should be different. They were soulmates. You don’t want to see him moving on as if she never even existed!

Days of our Lives: Helper Elf

Chad is going to need lots of emotional support, 31% of the audience insists. And, in true romance fashion, he should end up falling for them. Candidates for the job include Gabi Hernandez (Camila Banus) – the two already have a past; Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold) – who trades the loves of her life with every new moon, and Sonny Kiriakis (Zach Tinker) – he and Chad are already close friends. This could be the natural next step. That might remind Will Horton (Chandler Massey) to pay more attention to his husband.

Like My Father Did

Chad is a DiMera, right, 17% of Days of our Lives fans remind. He should turn to the dark side, like his father and all of his brothers before him. With his wife dead, Chad should want to strike out and hurt everyone who ever hurt him – and even a few people who never did anything to him, but happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
