Days of our Lives’ Lani, Eli and Chanel: A Three’s Company Comedy Act

Happily married with newborn twins isn’t exactly the recipe for much drama or storyline action on soaps. So moving Chanel into Lani and Eli’s apartment was a great move for Days of our Lives to make. The trio has quickly emerged into a Three’s Company comedy act.

Days of our Lives: Happily Ever Ho-Hum

Lani (Sal Stowers) and Eli (Lamon Archey) are a daytime rarity – happy together, sweet to watch, and still exuding a whole lot of sex appeal. However, all bliss and no turmoil can turn boring on a dime.

That’s why adding the down-and-out Chanel (Precious Way) into the mix, by moving her into her cousin Lani’s apartment, has been a fun twist. The spunky young woman has breathed new life and energy into the couple’s home.

Keeping Things Interesting

There’s never a dull moment with Chanel on the scene. She’s spoiled, manipulative, and always angling to get what she wants. Yet, her chats with Lani, who’s tried to coax her cousin into taking responsibility for her life, have been warm and heartfelt.

However, Chanel’s been at her best in moments alone with Lani’s sexy husband, Eli. So far, she’s caught him walking around naked twice and has never missed the opportunity to ooh and ahh, while ogling him, giggling and commenting on his considerable assets. It’s turned the usually cool Eli into mush, feeling both embarrassed and objectified.

Triple Threat

While there’s clearly little chance (though she could always try) of anything developing between Chanel and Eli – she’s just so young, and he’s totally devoted to Lani – their interactions have provided some hilarious moments. They’ve also made Lani more possessive of her man, which has been an added bonus.

Like the time she found her husband (in a towel) and cousin (in a robe) on the couch looking through Chanel’s plans for her new bakery. Lani got territorial sitting between the pair and giving Chanel a steer-clear look, obviously feeling a tad perturbed by the situation.

Still, it’s all been in good fun, so far. Chanel’s addition to Lani and Eli’s home has been exactly what their ho-hum household needed. Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
