Jen Lilley may not be on Days of our Lives anymore, but the former Theresa Donavan continues to up her Hallmark Christmas resume, filming her sixth movie in the past few years.

A Very Special Co-Star For Jen Lilley

In her latest, USS Christmas, she plays a newspaper reporter who embarks on a Tiger Cruise during Christmastime and encounters a handsome naval officer (Trevor Donovan) and stumbles upon a mystery in the ship’s archive room. The film also stars Barbara Niven (ex-Liz Coleman Reynolds, One Life to Live).

But it was another co-star who Lilley was excited to talk about on Instagram. The actress posted a series of photos of her new friend, Lacey, and shared his experience on the set.

“This was hands down my favorite day on any set I’ve ever worked on,” the actress said. “Meet Lacey, the man I dubbed as my leading man for the day on [USS Christmas].”

With apologies to her co-star Trevor Donovan, Lilley explained how Lacey was brought to the set by way of a Make a Wish dream, and she was so thrilled to share a scene with him and fulfill his wish to be part of a Hallmark movie.

“I cried and thanked Jesus that he got to be on mine,” Lilley said. “I don’t think it’s a coincidence because I happen to believe God is still alive and active and willing and able to heal. It was my absolute joy to meet Lacey and his incredible wife, Chrissy, hear a little of their story, and pray with them.”

She also mentioned how fitting it was that Hallmark Movies & Mysteries is counting down to Christmas with a Miracles of Christmas special—and prays for a miracle for her new friend.

“Let’s all take a moment to pray for Lacey today that his cancer leaves his body right now,” Lilley wrote. Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.

This was hands down my favorite day on any set I’ve ever worked on. Meet Lacey, the man I dubbed as my leading man for the day on #USSChristmas (sorry @trevordonovan). Lacey partnered with @makeawishamerica and his wish was being on the set of a @hallmarkmovie. I cried and thanked Jesus that he got to be on mine. I don’t think it’s a coincidence because I happen to believe God is still alive and active and willing and able to heal. And how fitting that Hallmark Movies & Mysteries is counting down #Christmas with the #miraclesofchristmas special. ❤️ @laceyandchrissyfaircloth Let’s all take a moment to pray for Lacey today that his cancer leaves his body right now. #faith
