Christmas came early this year for Days of our Lives alum Jen Lilley, and the actress took to social media to talk about the incredible present she had under her tree.
Jen Lilley Reveals Great News
On her Instagram page, Lilley, who played Theresa Donovan on the NBC soap, posted a few adorable photos of her new son, Jeffrey, who she and her husband Jason Wayne adopted at the end of October. The images show the sweet boy inside a giant gift box next to the Christmas tree.
“Words cannot express how much I love this little one,” Lilley wrote. “Biologically, he’s Kayden’s half brother, but as Jason said so beautifully, ‘Today, we made them full brothers’ I have loved this little one since his momma’s first sonogram.”
The couple adopted Kayden last year. When they found out that Jeffrey was in foster care and they weren’t sure he would be allowed to live with them, Lilly was heartbroken.
“How could I ever explain to the boys that we didn’t keep them together,” she wrote. “Where would he go? Not all foster homes are loving. I prayed one of those prayers only a mother can pray. I mean had he been dead I think his little spirit would have hopped back in his body. It was bold. It was like I was warring over his safety and well being. I’ll never forget the moment I said amen, we got another call that their birth mom insisted the boys be together and thank God the county honored her wish.”
While Lilly didn’t name Jeffrey, she revealed that his name stands for “God’s divine peace,” which is perfectly fitting.
“Jeffrey is the kindest, sweetest, most nurturing, and adorable little boy anyone could ever hope for,” she wrote. “He’s the perfect brother, the perfect yes man, and he has the best heart. He fills our home with peace, love, and joy, and my heart has never been so full.”
On another Instagram post, Lilly posted some beautiful family photos taken on her son’s Adoption Day, Oct. 30.
“We love you, Jeffrey!” she wrote, “my heart is full.” Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
