There is a character named Diana currently walking around Days Of Our Lives. She says she’s the same Diana who dated John (Drake Hogysten) during his Roman/Marlena is dead days (ha!).
It’s kind of hard to believe. Not because she’s now played by Judith Chapman (ex-Gloria; The Young and the Restless), whereas before, Diana was played by Genie Francis (Laura; General Hospital).
That’s the least of it. Fans accepted Roman turning into John, and the real Roman coming back looking like Chris Kositchek (Josh Taylor) – only nobody noticed, then a heretofore unmentioned ex-husband of Marlena’s (Deidre Hall) named Alex popping up looking like the original Roman (Wayne Northrup) – and no one noticed again.
So, yeah, we’re chill with musical faces. It’s the 180 change in personality that’s got fans scratching their heads. How almost 3000 viewers feel about shift:
The Bell Jar
It’s way too jarring, 83% of the audience protests. Genie’s Diana was an overall nice person. There were some issues with a missing trust fund, an evil mother, and kissing up to Victor (John Aniston).
Let’s not forget a secret ex-husband, and, yeah, Diana did accidentally shoot John. But, honestly, with the usual amount of kidnappings for a woman in Salem, Diana was really more victim than villain.
Sure, she could have become a harder person, especially if her marriage to Mr. Cooper was as terrible as Leo (Kevin Rikaart) insinuated. But, seriously, this Diana is straight up looking for ways to KILL Marlena.
(Though her fantasies of various death possibilities were pretty fun.) This is not a pleasant character. And this is certainly not Diana Colville!
Pretty Poison
This is a much more fun version of Diana, 17% of you cheer. The last one was dull as a wash-rag, she spent more time crying than actually doing anything. This Diana isn’t the crying type. And she isn’t passive either. This Diana makes things happen. Bad things!
