The Baby Holly Debacle Or…’The Ruination of Chloe and Nicole’

Chloe’s desire to give her best friend Nicole the baby she always dreamed of started out with so much promise on Days of Our Lives.

After all, Nicole was so distraught after losing Daniel (Shawn Christian) Chloe felt she had to do something.

We soon learned that apparently Chloe had been trying to help Nicole and Daniel have baby before he even died, but the first try didn’t work – and then Daniel was killed.

Wanting to help her dear friend through the grief, Chloe tried again without telling Nicole so she wouldn’t get her hopes up.

Yet, when Nicole did move on with someone Chloe (Nadia Bjorlin) felt was too dangerous to have around a baby, Chloe did the unthinkable – and what viewers have been left with is the destruction of both a beautiful friendship – and two strong female characters.

Crazy Chloe
Being willing to go so far as to help your dear friend by carrying her baby is a huge sacrifice and gesture of friendship.

Are we really supposed to believe that Chloe would go through everything that she has only to snatch the baby away from Nicole?

Sure, Deimos (Vincent Irizarry) is ruthless and dangerous, but giving Nicole the chance to be a mom only to rip the baby from her arms is astonishingly cruel and not something we really buy Chloe being capable of doing. This character change, even if it’s to keep the baby she’s grown to love safe, it just too much to buy.

Nutty Nicole
Frankly, what viewers are being asked to buy from Nicole (Arianne Zucker) is even more unbelievable. All Chloe asked was that she dump Deimos.

After a lifetime of wanting nothing more than to be a mother, and knowing that this man is what is standing between her and the fulfillment of that dream, are we really supposed to believe she chose — Deimos?!

Heck, even if that’s so, Nicole would be smart enough to stage a breakup, get her daughter back, and then she could “slowly” reconcile with Deimos once she had full custody of her daughter legally.

Another Culprit
The farce of custody battle was also too much of a bitter pill to swallow. There doesn’t seem to be any reason for the judge to rule against Nicole. Except for what’s behind all of this craziness – and that’s bad writing.

The only saving grace to this whole nightmare, which spoilers reveal is only going to get worse, is that the writer behind this story has been fired. Here’s hoping the characters — and the show — can recover.
