Days Of Our Lives Head Writer Ron Carlivati Brings On A New Doctor

Ron Carlivati has brought back many endearing characters to Days of Our Lives since becoming head writer on the NBC soap. Now, he’s added one more that’s near and dear to his own heart!

The Emmy-winning scribe, who charts the courses of the DAYS characters, shared on social media that his real-life father is playing an extra who is a doctor on this Friday’s episode of DAYS.

“Paging Dr. Carlivati!” the Emmy-winning writer wrote in a post. “Look for my superfan dad to appear as an extra this Friday.

As you can see in the photo below, the senior Carlivati was working the same day as Mary Beth Evans (Kayla) was. Given the show’s recent medical dramas, it’s possible we might also see in the episode Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes) and Kate (Lauren Koslow) given their recent health scare storylines!

Carlivati is clearly having a great time with this soap, paying homage to his old stomping ground, One Life to Live, recently with Robin Strasser and Kassie DePaiva scenes. There were even a few lines that harkened back to General Hospital with downloaded memories and freezing the world all in one episode.
