Freddie Smith Finally Speaks Out About Will’s Death?

It’s been nearly a year since Days of Our Lives killed legacy character Will Horton. While fans were devastated by the murder, they were also thrilled to see Freddie Smith return as Will’s husband, Sonny. However, the visit was brief and Sonny soon returned to Europe.

Now, Smith is back for the long haul and expressed his feelings about Will’s death and the new turn in Sonny’s life to Michael Fairman Soaps.

“It was definitely a shock,” Smith told Fairman. “But, I also like that they go there, too. I know that might upset some people, but you got to mix things up. They didn’t treat us differently, which was ultimately what we were going for this whole time.  I was definitely shocked [that were killing Will], but I actually heard about it before I knew I was coming back for it.”

With Sonny back in Salem and beginning his life anew, he actually goes back to the past and rekindles his friendship with Paul, which could lead to something more.

“We [Smith and Christopher Sean] have been working together a lot. I think the fans are going to be surprised that there is something else going on between Sonny and Paul aside from their past, and their romance, and their friendship. There is another element to Paul and Sonny that you are going to see.,” Smith told Fairman.

He’ll be interacting with more characters in Salem, but also admits that he knows fans would love to see Will return. While he’s not sure if and how the show can make that happen, he knows it would be a fascinating plot twist. After all, we watched Will take his last breaths. However, on a soap, never say never.
