While Alison Sweeney’s Sami is missed in Salem, Days of Our Lives fans can see the actress in her new movie franchise on Hallmark called the Chronicle Mysteries … and now the popular star is offering a first look at the first movie.
Sweeney shared Hallmark’s official post from Instagram, saying, “I’m so super excited to share the first trailer for #ChronicleMysteries !!! 🕵🏼♀️🎥”
The trailer describes the movie as a cold case mystery: “Ten years after a local cold case, Alex McPherson is determined to find answers. @alisweeney stars in #ChronicleMysteries: Recovered, premiering Sunday, February 17 at 9pm/8c, part of #MustSolveSundays #Sleuthers”
This is Sweeney’s second franchise for Hallmark. The first one, Murder She Baked, produced five different films under that banner. Sweeney hasn’t said how many flicks she plans to do for this series, but hopefully, it won’t take up all of her time.
DAYS fans would love for her to come back for another story arc on the show. Some are still holding out hope that her one-night stand with Rafe (Galen Gering) produced a child but since Lucas (Bryan Dattilo) has moved close by to help with their daughter, it seems unlikely she’d be able to hide the infant.
Still, that doesn’t mean there aren’t plenty of other storyline possibilities for Sami. Guess we’ll just have to stay tuned to see if it happens. However, we do hear that she might make an appearance for Caroline Brady’s memorial later this year.
Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
