The good people of Days Of Our Lives have some pretty strong opinions on Xander, the long lost Kiriakis nephew that seems to ‘die’ more often than Stefano DiMera. (AMAZING!)
Victor (John Aniston) treats him like crap. Eric (Greg Vaughn) blames Xander (Paul Telfer) for Nicole’s (Arianne Zucker) death – and sleeping with Sarah (Linsay Godfrey).
Sheila (Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins ) and Leo (Greg Rikaart), on the other hand, think he’s mighty fine. (Then again, it’s possible Victor and Eric think Xander is mighty fine, too. They’re just more low-key about it.)
But what about the fans? Do you find Xander horrid or entertaining? Almost 9000 fans split the vote pretty evenly:
It may have been close, but 52% of you came out on top, voting Xander is undeniably horrid. He didn’t just get Nicole killed, he’s also scheming against Sonny (Freddie Smith), and… uhm… constantly jumping into the hot tub.
And then getting out again. And walking around shirtless. And wet. Water stains are totes hard to get out of hardwood floors.
Xander wants what he believes should be due to him as a member of the Kiriakis family. The same way all members of the Kiriakis family do. But when Xander makes his claim, he’s…bad.
House Of Nice
He may be bad, but he’s also entertaining, a slightly smaller 46% point out. Who else could fluster not only Maggie (Suzanne Rogers), but Sheila and Leo, too?
Everyone else in Salem is either sickeningly sweet, or grimly evil. There is not enough enjoyment of their villainy. Leo was getting there for a while, but then Mama Diana (Judith Chapman) showed up, and he got all grumpy. Xander knows how to laugh while twirling his mustache.
Can’t Decide
The remaining 2% voted horrid and entertaining. And isn’t that what we all really want from a villain. How are you supposed to enjoy yourselves if they’re not enjoying themselves? Xander is a soap-opera classic!
