It’s been a little more than 35 years since Days of our Lives’ Shane Donovan and Kimberly Brady met and fell in love, but for many fans, they can still envision the super couple in their glory days, with the sounds of Gloria Loring and Carl Anderson’s “Friends and Lovers” playing in the background.
Days of our Lives Supercouple
Though the pair had plenty of ups and downs throughout their relationship, their love for adventure and one another kept the ISA agent and therapist finding their way back to one another time and time again.
Whether it was battling Victor (John Aniston) or Stefano (Joe Mascolo) together, dealing with Shane’s brat of a child Eve, or just teaming to help Bo and Hope with their latest scheme, the Englishman and the former prostitute were always a couple worth rooting for.
It’s been a while since we’ve seen their characters together back in Salem—with Patsy Pease and Charles Shaughnessy last reprising their roles when daughter Theresa (Jen Lilley) got in trouble. She had to leave Salem in order to save Brady (Eric Martsolf) by going undercover to get the goods on Mateo.
With Bo, Shawn and Caroline all having passed away, it’s time to get the Brady legacy back. With the Horton Center missing some firepower since Eric (Greg Vaughan) left town, Kimberly could easily step in and run the place. Meanwhile, there’s always some mystery popping about that Shane can get involved in.
Plus, Roman (Josh Taylor) and Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) could sure use their sister right about now with the family having lost so much.
Last Kimberly was mentioned, she had cancer, and Theresa went off to be with her mom for a bit. Having the whole family return—with Tate in tow, of course, would also throw a wrench into Brady’s life, setting up some fun drama. DAYS fans always welcome back Jen Lilley with open arms.
Of course, we need Kimberly to be in remission—the Bradys have had enough to deal with lately! But this former super couple could surely bring some excitement back to the canvas. Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
