Days of our Lives C&G News

Who’s coming and who’s going from Days of our Lives (DOOL)? Are any favorite
performers from yesteryear returning to the daytime drama, this week, or in the near future?

Have any new actors or actresses been cast on the show in contract, recurring or day player roles? Are any well-remembered stars from other soaps, past or present, about to join Days of our Lives fold in surprise new parts? Here’s the latest casting news from the NBC soap.

The week of June 15, 2020

The revolving door of ins and outs continues at DAYS. Two more popular vets will be resurfacing, this summer. Jay Kenneth Johnson, who debuted as Kate (Lauren Koslow) and Victor’s (John Aniston) son, Philip Kiriakis, in 1999, is bringing the popular character back to town. Johnson reprised the role on the DOOL App series, Last Blast Reunion, last November.

Philip was last seen on screen in 2016 when he left Salem. At that point, the character was played by John-Paul Lavoisier.

Louise Sorel, who originated the role of Vivian Alamain in1992, is also heading back to the soap in the weeks ahead. The role was temporarily played by Robin Strasser from last year when Sorel was unavailable to return to the soap.

Kassie DePaiva is reportedly bringing Eve Donovan back for another run, too. Look for the character to resurface in late July/early August.

Days of our Lives History

DOOL made its debut in 1965 and is one of the longest-running daytime soap operas in American history. It has outlasted other soaps to become a mainstay for many households. Needless to say, five decades of storylines have kept viewers locked in and wanting more.

From Stefano DiMera’s (Joseph Mascolo) evil schemes to Victor Kiriakis’s (John Aniston) one-liners to the epic love story of Bo (Peter Reckell) and Hope (Kristian Alfonso), DAYS knows how to entertain and keep fans coming back for more. Sadly, times are shifting and daytime soap operas are shrinking.

Bringing the Drama

It is one of only four remaining soap operas currently on the air. The other three daytime dramas include General Hospital (GH), The Young and the Restless (YR), and The Bold and the Beautiful (BB). DAYS airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for air times.
