Days of our Lives C&G News

Who’s coming and who’s going from Days of our Lives (DOOL)? Are any favorite performers from yesteryear returning to the daytime drama, this week, or in the near future?

Have any new actors or actresses been cast on the show in contract, recurring or day player roles? Are any well-remembered stars from other soaps, past or present, about to join Days of our Lives fold in surprise new parts? Here’s the latest casting news from the NBC soap.

The week of October 12, 2020

Kristian Alfonso makes her last appearance as Hope Williams Brady on Wednesday, October 14. The actress opted to exit the soap after the powers-that-be suggested pulling her from the show for five months before bringing her back.

Her final episode was shot last winter before Days shut down production for COVID-19. So there will be no scripted exit for the character. Alfonso first debuted in the role of Hope in 1983.

Galen Gering is back on set filming scenes as Rafe Hernandez, after being written off the show in August. When last seen, Rafe, Eduardo (A Martinez), and Gabi (Camila Banus) were fleeing Salem.

Word is that James Read and George Del Hoyo will both be returning for another stint as Clyde Weston and Orpheus, respectively. Expect to see both characters resurface later this month.

Days of our Lives History

DOOL made its debut in 1965 and is one of the longest-running daytime soap operas in American history. It has outlasted other soaps to become a mainstay for many households. Needless to say, five decades of storylines have kept viewers locked in and wanting more.

From Stefano DiMera’s (Joseph Mascolo) evil schemes to Victor Kiriakis’s (John Aniston) one-liners to the epic love story of Bo (Peter Reckell) and Hope (Kristian Alfonso), DAYS knows how to entertain and keep fans coming back for more. Sadly, times are shifting and daytime soap operas are shrinking.

Bringing the Drama

It is one of four remaining soap operas currently on the air. The other three daytime dramas include General Hospital (GH), The Young and the Restless (YR), and The Bold and the Beautiful (BB). DAYS airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for air times.
