Have any new actors or actresses been cast on the show in contract, recurring or day player roles? Are any well-remembered stars from other soaps, past or present, about to join Days of Our Lives fold in surprise new parts? Here’s the latest casting news from the NBC soap.

The week of September 2, 2019
On the heels of last week’s two big exits, this week, three major characters are returning — albeit one of them with a brand new face. Robin Strasser takes over the role of Vivian Alamain on Monday, September 2. The daytime vet is well known to soap fans, having appeared on Another World (as Rachel), All My Children (as Christina), One Life to Live (as Dorian) and Passions (as Hecuba).

The role of Vivian was originally created by Louise Sorel, who portrayed the devious flamboyant villainess on and off since 1992. The actress was reportedly unable to return this time around.

Will Utay is also back on the scene as Dr. Wilhelm Rolf. Look for the mad scientist to make his first appearance on Monday, September 2. Utay last aired as Rolf in October of 2018.

Last, but not least, Arianne Zucker, who’s been playing Kristen DiMera for the last several months, resurrects her far more popular character, Nicole Walker, on Friday, September 6. Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
