Days of our Lives C&G News

Who’s coming and who’s going from Days of our Lives (DOOL)? Are any favorite performers from yesteryear returning to the daytime drama, this week, or in the near future?

Have any new actors or actresses been cast on the show in contract, recurring or day player roles? Are any well-remembered stars from other soaps, past or present, about to join Days of our Lives fold in surprise new parts? Here’s the latest casting news from the NBC soap.

The week of March 2, 2020

After a couple of weeks of exit news, there are a few returns on the Salem horizon. Nadia Bjorlin is heading back to Salem as Chloe Lane. She’ll begin taping scenes in March to air later this year.

Bjorlin last appeared on the soap in August of  2019. She followed that up with a stint on the Days’ digital series, Last Blast Reunion.

Thaao Penghlis and Leann Hunley, last seen as Tony and Anna DiMera in February, will be reprising their roles, too. Penghlis shared the happy news on Twitter, posting, “We’re back in March. Thank u all for the support.”

Also, recurring on the soap are daytime alums and husband and wife team, Victoria Platt and Terrell Tilford. Tilford has been playing the town’s new DA, James Giddens.

Meanwhile, Platt is portraying Dr. Rainer, the medico who delivered Kristen’s (Stacy Haiduk) baby daughter and then switched her with Sarah’s (Linsey Godfrey) deceased infant.

Days of our Lives History

DOOL made its debut in 1965 and is one of the longest-running daytime soap operas in American history. It has outlasted other soaps to become a mainstay for many households. Needless to say, five decades of storylines have kept viewers locked in and wanting more.

From Stefano DiMera’s (Joseph Mascolo) evil schemes to Victor Kiriakis’s (John Aniston) one-liners to the epic love story of Bo (Peter Reckell) and Hope (Kristian Alfonso), DAYS knows how to entertain and keep fans coming back for more. Sadly, times are shifting and daytime soap operas are shrinking.

Bringing the Drama

It is one of only four remaining soap operas currently on the air. The other three daytime dramas include General Hospital (GH), The Young and the Restless (YR), and The Bold and the Beautiful (BB). DAYS airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for air times.
