Days of our Lives C&G News

Who’s coming and who’s going from Days of our Lives (DOOL)? Are any favorite performers from yesteryear returning to the daytime drama, this week, or in the near future?

Have any new actors or actresses been cast on the show in contract, recurring or day player roles? Are any well-remembered stars from other soaps, past or present, about to join Days of our Lives fold in surprise new parts? Here’s the latest casting news from the NBC soap.

The week of February 3, 2020

Days of Our Lives resumes production this week after a long hiatus. But that doesn’t mean all of viewers’ favorite actors and characters will be back. According to a behind-the-scenes source, some prominent performers won’t be returning, while a few will only appear short term to wrap up storylines.

Meanwhile, Judi Evans may have breathed her last breath as Adrienne Kiriakis — or so it appeared — but that doesn’t mean the actress’ run with the show is over and done. Evans’ longtime leading man, Wally Kurth, who plays Adrienne’s soulmate and widower Justin Kiriakis, had fans abuzz with a recent social media post.

What do you think? Post a comment!

Kurth tweeted that Evans “is coming back” to DAYS, but stopped short of saying how — or as whom. Aside from portraying Adrienne, Evans has also played the bawdy Bonnie Lockhart on the soap. So her return could come in the form of another character or a ghost. Or perhaps Adrienne will simply be brought back to life as so many other Salem characters have over the last few years. Stay tuned…

Days of our Lives History

DOOL made its debut in 1965 and is one of the longest-running daytime soap operas in American history. It has outlasted other soaps to become a mainstay for many households. Needless to say, five decades of storylines have kept viewers locked in and wanting more.

From Stefano DiMera’s (Joseph Mascolo) evil schemes to Victor Kiriakis’s (John Aniston) one-liners to the epic love story of Bo (Peter Reckell) and Hope (Kristian Alfonso), DAYS knows how to entertain and keep fans coming back for more. Sadly, times are shifting and daytime soap operas are shrinking.

Bringing the Drama

It is one of only four remaining soap operas currently on the air. The other three daytime dramas include General Hospital (GH), The Young and the Restless (YR), and The Bold and the Beautiful (BB). DAYS airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for air times.
