Days of our Lives C&G News

Who’s coming and who’s going from Days of our Lives (DOOL)? Are any favorite performers from yesteryear returning to the daytime drama, this week, or in the near future?

Have any new actors or actresses been cast on the show in contract, recurring, or day player roles? Are any well-remembered stars from other soaps, past or present, about to join Days of our Lives fold in surprise new parts? Here’s the latest casting news from the NBC soap.

The week of January 11, 2021
It looks like Jennifer (Cady McClain) will be receiving a visit from her mother. Jaime Lyn Bauer announced that she’s taped scenes as Laura Horton — six episodes in total — that are set to air sometime next month.

It’s been a while since Bauer’s last appearance on the soap. Laura was last seen in May of 2018 when she picked up Abigail to take to her to Boston for psychiatric treatment.

Victoria Platt is back as Dr. Amanda Raynor on Thursday, January 14, the character that helped facilitate the switch between Sarah (Lindsey Godfrey) and Kristen’s (Stacy Haiduk) babies. She last aired in 2020.

Angelo Tiffe wrapped up his two-day stint as Ava’s cousin (Tamara Braun), Angelo Vitali, after revealing critical news to Steve (Stephen Nichols) and John (Drake Hogestyn).

Days of our Lives History

DOOL made its debut in 1965 and is one of the longest-running daytime soap operas in American history. It has outlasted other soaps to become a mainstay for many households. Needless to say, five decades of storylines have kept viewers locked in and wanting more.

From Stefano DiMera’s (Joseph Mascolo) evil schemes to Victor Kiriakis’s (John Aniston) one-liners to the epic love story of Bo (Peter Reckell) and Hope (Kristian Alfonso), DAYS knows how to entertain and keep fans coming back for more. Sadly, times are shifting and daytime soap operas are shrinking.

Bringing the Drama

It is one of four remaining soap operas currently on the air. The other three daytime dramas include General Hospital (GH), The Young and the Restless (YR), and The Bold and the Beautiful (BB). DAYS airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for air times.
