James Lastovic exits as Joey on Tuesday, August 22, when his character shares poignant goodbye scenes with his loved ones before heading off to the slammer for murdering Ava (Tamara Braun).

Lastovic has played Steve (Stephen Nichols) and Kayla’s (Mary Beth Evans) son since August 2015.

“Thank you @nbcdays for the extraordinary and life changing experience,” posted Lastovic on Instagram.

Louise Sorel is reportedly back on set taping scenes as Vivian Alamain. Because of the show’s advance schedule, which tapes some six months ahead, she should begin airing in the new year.
