Days of our Lives C&G News

Who’s coming and who’s going from Days of our Lives (DOOL)? Are any favorite performers from yesteryear returning to the daytime drama, this week, or in the near future?

Have any new actors or actresses been cast on the show in contract, recurring or day player roles? Are any well-remembered stars from other soaps, past or present, about to join Days of our Lives fold in surprise new parts? Here’s the latest casting news from the NBC soap.

The week of March 30, 2020

Get ready for three big Salem returns on April Fool’s Day. Shawn Christian, who was killed off as Dr. Daniel Jonas in 2016, reappears on Wednesday, April 1. Look for his character to turn up on Nicole’s (Arianne Zucker) doorstep. Christian last aired on the soap in a mix of flashback and dream scenes back in 2017.

Also back on Wednesday, April 1 is Greg Rikaart as con artist Leo Stark. The actor will share scenes with Chandler Massey’s Will and Freddie Smith’s Sonny. Rikaart was written off the show in September of 2019.

Last, but not least, Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins pops in as Sheila Watkins in scenes with her old pal Eli (Lamon Archey). The character last aired in May 2019 at which point she decided to leave town.

Meanwhile, on the exit front, Deidre Hall’s double duty is coming to an end. Hattie Adams is set to leave Salem on Friday, April 3.

Days of our Lives History

DOOL made its debut in 1965 and is one of the longest-running daytime soap operas in American history. It has outlasted other soaps to become a mainstay for many households. Needless to say, five decades of storylines have kept viewers locked in and wanting more.

From Stefano DiMera’s (Joseph Mascolo) evil schemes to Victor Kiriakis’s (John Aniston) one-liners to the epic love story of Bo (Peter Reckell) and Hope (Kristian Alfonso), DAYS knows how to entertain and keep fans coming back for more. Sadly, times are shifting and daytime soap operas are shrinking.

Bringing the Drama

It is one of only four remaining soap operas currently on the air. The other three daytime dramas include General Hospital (GH), The Young and the Restless (YR), and The Bold and the Beautiful (BB). DAYS airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for air times.
